These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Companion ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by Kronos Automation. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Companion is a reflective-companion application. It provides a short daily check-in (mood tracking and a written reflection with an AI-generated response), longer guided reflection sessions on themes you choose (such as a difficult decision or a hard conversation), a private journal, and computed patterns over time (mood trends and recurring themes). Some features are free; others require a paid subscription (see "Subscriptions & Billing").
Companion is a reflection tool and thinking partner. It is not therapy, and it does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Content generated by the App — including AI-assisted responses in check-ins and sessions — reflects patterns in your own input and is provided for self-reflection and personal-growth purposes only. It is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional, and you are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on the App.
Companion is not a crisis service and cannot respond to emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact the crisis line the App shows for your country (in the US, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency service immediately.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
If you create an account or sign in (for example, with Google), you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use.
You agree not to misuse the App, including by attempting to access it through unauthorized means, reverse-engineering or interfering with its operation, reselling or redistributing its content, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
You retain ownership of the check-ins, session context, and journal entries you create in the App. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you (for example, saving your check-in and session history and generating personalized reflection responses). You can delete your content and account at any time from Settings.
The App and its content — including the reflection prompts, guided session themes, written interpretive content, text, design, and software — are owned by Kronos Automation or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our written permission.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that any AI-generated response is accurate, complete, or suitable for your circumstances.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kronos Automation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or for the security or integrity of the service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Kronos Automation is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
